Default Halliford Mere 10/4/10

A pleasant warm day with a slight breeze.
Arrived to find another forumite Flybysage already fishing.
Moved around lake 1 and 2 where i had a few fast takes on buzzer, but no hook ups.Joined FBS who was on the point of lake 1 and was clonking em on apps and buzzer.Managed two browns on white fritz and three rainbows on apps and buzzer very close in.Took abreak around lunchtime when FBS left and resumed at far end corner of 1.Had a fish straight away on white fritz and plenty of taps.Moved again into next swim-opposite club house.Had another four rainbows all on white fritz, fished very slowly.Best fish was in excess of 8lb(a very conservative estimate)which cleared the water on hooking then stayed doggedly deep until netted.Packed up with the fish still feeding-getting taps and plucks almost every put in.Plenty of anglers out and most getting some action.

Well Done Chris on getting into double figures! I finished upon 6 (& 1 pike!) for the morning with the best being a nice 4lb Brown but all the fish I had were fully fined and fought like demons. Small green damels with red eyes, had plenty of tugs but lightening quick then I changed to an Apps on a long leader with a black buzzer on the dropper under an indicator. Would have liked to have stayed and tried to beat Chub1 's 10 but couldn't! Next time perhaps!!
