Willowgate is now open 7 days until 7.30pm and is still fishing great. There have been double figure Browns and Rainbows caught most days and 20-30 fish is quite common on C&R tickets.

The fish are pretty well spread out and successful tactics include the bung with leaded blobs, bloodworms or buzzers. The usual lures are working well and when the conditions are right, buzzers and diawl bachs straight-lined on a floater is very effective.

We are running a competition on Sunday 18th April with lots of great prizes as well as food and refreshments throughout the day.

There will also be a summer league on Friday evenings from 21st May until 13th August.

Booking is not essential at weekends but it is normally pretty busy so not a bad idea to phone in advance.

I'm good mate. If you are coming up in May, the weekend of 15th/16th would be a good choice. You could fish the CHAS comp at the Lake on the Saturday and Willowgate on the Sunday.

Would've done that too, but I'm on Sweethope Loughs down here, for the Lexus Individual Heat....

I was down for a couple of hours tonight and witnessed the willowgate come alive with surface feeding fish taking small buzzers and emergers. It was fantastic to see and hopefully a sign of some warmer weather. There was another double figure brownie off today and some youngsters getting first time sport with good sized hard fighting rainbows and blues.
