Default Rosslynlee

Took a chance today that Rosslynlee would be open today, passing through Romano Bridge the temperature was reading -7,oh fook i was thinking to myself!.Thankfully it started to climb as i got closer to the fishery. The fishing itself was first class with plenty of offers and quite a few trout caught and released. Some good quality fish with a few in the 5lb range and my best of the day around 8lb that fell to a hothead damsel.A black rabbit accounted for most of the fish i caught, with a reverse millenium bug under an indicator picking up a few as well.Plenty of fish were being caught on the wooden bridge and on the platforms on each side of the bridge, did`nt see too many getting caught down off the dam wall.Cracking wee fishery, well worth a visit!Wee Joey

I was there yesterday also my first fishing trip in nearly 7 years. I was the noisy one with the 8 year old kid. We started down the dam end and sort off worked our way round to the hotspot at the bridge end waiting for someone to move on an give us a wee shot at the good bit. Did not hit any fish until I moved into that bit, we had about 6 fish mostly on a Damsel. Gave the weeman a shot of the rod on every catch and must admit he was loving it. Thats him hooked me thinks, as he was in the Fishtec magazine looking for rods as soon as we got home. Great day out was had.

We ended up beside each other then mate,i came onto the platform to your left about 2.30 and fished there until i left the water about 3ish.The shallows were fishing well all morning, even before the stockies went in.Try the area of the T platform next time your there,it`s always good for a few fish!

Hi Joey

Great wee fishery, I'm just happy I got into a few fish to keep the wee man interested. We were on our way to Loganlea but the road up to it was looking a bit dodgy with the snow so didnae bother.
I see you pass the Leadburn, have you fished the Manor ? If so what's that like ? Another water a fancy is Frandy, be hoping to get up there sometime soon. Any reccomendations welcome mate

Spoilt for choice eh.

I was down at Leadburn for a few hours late yesterday afternoon. The great thing about it is that it was open til 8.00pm (Rosslynlee shuts at 5.00pm). I am pretty new to the fly fishing game but caught two fish, one was a hard fighting 7 pounder which was fantastic sport.
I think once the grass starts to take and the landscaping settles down then Leadburn is going to be a 'top' place to fish.

I have fished Rosslynlee and Tweeddale also and they are also great places.

Cheers
Scotty

I`ve never fished Leadburn Manor,i don`t normally pass by it on my usual route to Rosslynlee.Looks like they are still working on it from what i could see. Some of the rods at Rosslynlee on Friday did say that the prices at Leadburn have dropped to be more in line with the likes of Rosslynlee.PM for you mate.Wee Joey

Had another day over at Rosslynlee yesterday.A wee bit hard going in the morning but the fish came on after lunch.Lures on a fastglass got most of our fish with my mate getting the biggest rainbow he`s caught at around 13lb.We both had a couple of fish just about the double figures mark.Great sport with the fish spread out a bit more than last week.We did best off the dam wall fishing near the valve tower.Wee Joey

Spent a few hours over at Rosslynlee today.Hard going today, with the wind picking up a fair bit as the day went on.The early rise and hatch soon died with the wind getting up.Managed to get a few fish on a few various lures on an intermediate and a couple on the F.U. under a bung.Nice to meet Barker who popped up for a wee blether, next time bring a rod mate and we`ll gie you some of our wee traditional patterns to try out! Wee Joey
