I heard a report of a 13lb 8oz brownie coming out from Whitwell Creek, that'll win the Independence Day Trophy then. Chap in the lodge suggested that some boats were struggling to find fish, but I'm sure there are those that bagged up quickly too.

I had a couple of hours in East Creek from the bank for my limit. floating line, assorted lures, quite slow and fairly deep. Only one pull on buzzers in the half hour I tried them, and didn't hit that.

There were white tops in the main basin, but I was in pretty sheltered bit, and no hail! The rain has only set in properly since I finished. We'll have to see what tomorrow brings now.

The brownie story is true, saw it mith my own eyes. The chap caught it on a humungus on a floater. Looked to be in good nick. I also had a lovely brown of about 4lb that was so silver that i didn't realise it was a brown until it was in the net!!
