That's not good. Tents, barbecues and coolbags full of lager next...

A real shame as I went to Witton for first time this winter. Had 3 visits and really enjoyed it. This move will detract from the place in my opinion.

Bad idea, and so are the new flyfishing catch and release rules. Won't be back.

Hi Robbie this was from their own web site this morning ; hope to see you and Waltyluft again soon;Rhodietiger this was taken from their web site, No more than 5 fish per angler (full permit angler) to be caught and returned in a days fishing. Any fish which shows signs of bleeding or stress must be killed and count as part of the limit.

Noel

I'm sure that that (5 fish) has always been part of the rules but never inforced before. You always see reports on the website of anglers returning 6/10 or even more fish in a day's fishing

The info regarding the coarse fishing on the little lake has been on their site since last week or earlier I saw it on Saturday morning.. I'm not sure if there are going to be any coarse fish stocked or if its maggot and sweetcorn for Rainbows only? but there is a link now on the BAAC website to a Carp site?

Personally I think this is to attract Holiday makers from the caravan park who now have a new website advertising the site and also the fishing at the lakes.

I also notice that it looks like Colin has left and that Tom has a new guy Joe helping him.

BAAC have also lost one of the best beats on the Wear from the bridge @ Witton down river to past the nature reserve this year. their signs are down and new ones are up on both banks.
