Catch Report week ending Sunday 28th March 2010
With the high winds still with us, both ponds have been challenging but rewarding, producing some decent bags. Fish are still feeding on the bottom for the most part but coming to the surface in the evening when the wind tends to die down. Hunterston Fly Fishing Club had their 1st visit of the year on Saturday 26th and Mark McNaughton managed to net the heaviest single with a fish at 3.7lb.

On the Fly pond, it's hard to say what is working better. Buzzers (various colours) fished deep are probably the most successful this week, followed closely by hot head damsel. Hare's Ear, Bloodworms and Okey Dokey has done the business for a few. The odd dry fly is still working well when there is less wind.
On the Bait pond, Powerbait is yet again working better than any other method, with green and a green/pink mix working the best. It is perhaps worth mentioning that after one Rainbow was brought to the bank, it spat out 3 Sticklebacks.
The Bait pond has been stocked and the Fly pond will hopefully be stocked this week. Unfortunately we can't give an exact day as we are waiting on larger fish (aren't we all). Please check our website for updates on when this will be
