This week with alot of snow melt, which coloured water,it was slow to start but did pick up well.Most anglers had on average 8 fish for their sessions and some a few more.best flys were the black scruffs and tuftys which did best and buzzers also did well.Intermediete lines were needed with the colour of the water and fish had gone down deeper.Bill Simpson had a brown of around 3lbs and a brook trout,which was a surprise as one hasnt been caught for a long time,Young Craig Alexander had a nice fish of 6lbs,Chris Johnstone had 15 fish with his best at 5lbs,Jim Eddie had a few good days with 25 his best and a fish of 7lbs returned,Ian Morrison had 22,Slater Scott had 16,karen Gillies had 11 fish with a blue of 8lbs ,Dennis Mc Bain had 12,Willie Petrie had 12,Bob Alexander had 12 and Tom Anderson had 14.Tony Hunt did well for his first outing on the coarse loch after all the ice had gone with a selection of bream,ide and gudgeon which was promising for the season ahead.Names are still being taken for the bank International and the Airflo team and individual comps.Applications are available at the fishery and we can send them out for those interested.Troutmasters fish off is on Sunday and does not effect normal fishing on the lochs.All the pot holes are now filled and road is now back to normal after the bad weather.

A really good week of fishing,culmanating with the fish off for this years Troutmasters,which was won for the Seniors Marc Moss with 11lbs 8ozs and for the juniors,Cameron Walker with a fish of 7lbs 9ozs.Both will now go to the finals to be held in may and july.a change in weather brought fish onto the top and drys began to take fish untill wind put them down a little and then scruffs in black and white and tuftys were the key flies,buzzers also did work and plenty of good fish were caught,with Blues showing well and karen Gillies had a beauty of 8lbs and in numbers.jimmy Christie had a cracker at over 11lbs and another of 7lb,both returned,Steve Jones had a 7lb fish,max Gallagher had a 4lb 4oz with 2 fish for 8lbs 2oz,michael reid had a 5lb 7oz,and Derek Costen had a nice Blue of 3lb 11ozs,mike Matthews had a 4lb 5oz,martin Patience had a 4lb 7oz,gogs Robertson had a good day with 16 fish,and garry and david Patience both had a toll of 10 fish each,jimmy George had a 4lb 4ozs fish,jim eddie had 11 fish his best at 3lb 5oz,marc moss had a 5lb,er and cameron Walker a 7lb 9oz among his 10 fish,tom Anderson had 10 with his best at 4lb 13ozTyler hay had 22,ben Grundie had 16,Gordon robertson had 12,Brian Christie had 28 with 2 fish over 8lbs,John McGovern had 22 and on the coarse loch Tony Hunt had a good day again with a decent bag of bream and gudgeon.25th April is the first coarse competition,starting at 9am.April 10th is the sana bank competiton and April 24th is the airflo team and individual competition.Contact the fishery for entry forms.
