I fished Elinor, today (Friday).
Bitterly cold wind blowing the wrong way just to make casting a bu**er.
On Ed's advice I went to the top of the lake and fished a small bay just down from the Pylon. Nixes..not a touch on my blood worm or a damsel or just about anything. Very few rods, if any, bending.
Slogged round to the other side to fish diagonally into the wind. Same result, not a touch and no rods bending but the boats were taking a few.
By this time it's near 1:00pm and I'm staring a serious blank right in the eyes.
The I distinctly heard the even, measured tones of Charlie "Try the Orange Blob, Roy, it usually works here".
Well, that was good enough for me..on went the Cortland Blue and an Orange and Peach Blob.
Wallop your worship...first of five from the far side. When I'd had enough of the wind I moved back to where I was and another three followed.
I chucked it in at about three o'clock so eight fish in two and a half hours ain't bad!!
A word of credit to Ed. Not one of those fish was under 3lbs. and a couple went North of 4lb. Actually, even he was surprised.
