Default Ravensthorpe

Anyone fish Ravo on opening weekend ?

A few of us are going next Sunday and I have not fished it this early in the year before, so info on location and depth would be helpful.

Thanks

Charlie

PS. Yes I know there will be something on Rutland Gillies tomorrow

Boat or bank Tom ?

We are out on Sunday and I'm taking an American visitor who looked after me well over there with some terrific river fishing, so I am hoping we can put him on a few.

Will be a bank trip I think this time. Theres a report on opening weekend on fishypics by the way. Sounds like it was a bit of a struggle with the cold weather and coloured water, hopefully it will be better this weekend.

Cheers

Thanks Tom. I have never bank fished Ravo - so much of it is inaccessible and you are at the mercy of the wind..

I am not surprised that it was slow and deep that did the damage. I am sure it will be like that for a few weeks. Blobs on a Di5 or 7 I suspect.

Phil, if you go there this week, please drop me a pm.

Charlie

Charlie, been a couple of times early season with wesleybrown, always done well up the top end near the bridge r/h side looking up the res, fairly close in di3 and blobs, think we had around 60 fish between us, ear plugs in now for the comments, lol.

Changed our minds and booked a boat for Saturday, on the basis that it looks like it could be windy so bank fishing might be quite restrictive and if the fish are deep as on opening weekend we're more likely to be able to get at them. Looks like its warming up a bit this week though so I guess they might move up in the water.
