Any one know if HighNewton is ice free yet?
I, thinking of giving it a try on Monday.

Hi Novice,

Yes it's ice free and fishing well. I spent an enjoyable day today. Fished a team of 3 spiders very slow and deep. Even had a rainbow and a blue trout on at the same time! A green egg worked too. Most of the takes came ten to fifteen yards out.

Thanks m&s hope I do as well. Just tied some srtpped heel buzzers to try out but I'd better take some spiders with me

Hi Novice, How did you get on?

Well I did not blank which was good. Caught 2 on deep slow worked lure. Tried spiders and buzzers but not a sniff. It was slow going for every one except for 2 guys who found a shoal tucked in a bay.

Hi Novice, which bay was that, was it furthest point from dam wall, this is a little gem of a water and i will be up there when the weather gets better.
Glad you caught because catch it on a windy day and its practically impossible to fish, anyway well done ,ck.

The bay virtually ppposit fantasy island. Apparently they stocked here 10 days ago.

It was a cold wind but not windy by HN standards.

Yes, know that bay well, especially casting to it from that cliff area and if your lucky enough to get on that pinnacle point. Good for drifting a foam daddy about in summer that area, cheers ck.

I caught on the point by the trees just along from the disabled peg. Couldn't get a take anywhere else. They must shoal up in this weather.
