Default Pendle fishery A59

Hi all.
I fished at Pendle fishery on the A59 this weekend. Not my usual haunt as its very small and shallow, however, they charge by the hour (£8 for the first 2 hours then £1 per hour after, if you want to take a fish it's £3 extra) and when its this cold sometimes a few's enough for my frozen fingers. Its usually quite sheltered from the wind so the light tackle can get an airing. 2lb rainbows make for interesting fishing on my little 4wt. I tried a few dries with little interest apart from a few swirls so opted for a very slowly twitched small natural zonker which took a few to about 2lb. Other anglers were almost all using the dreaded sight bobs and buzzers with similar success. Im not a proud man so decided to give it a go with some small buzzers I tied a while ago. WOW!!!!!!! The catching was none stop!!!!! Id caught 20 fish to 4lb in 3 1/2 hours. For the last half hour I gave the bottom, left hand end a go which saw me take a great brown around 3lb, 2 perch and a clonking great roach of about 3/4 lb.
A glutton for punsshment I went again yesterday and got 18 in 4 hours, biggest was about 1 1/2 lb with quite a lot being overwintered fish with eel like proportions. Still all fought well though.
Great stuff, but this sight bob fishings a bit dull dont you think? And what is the best bob? Think I'l post in the tackle dscussion next.
Thanks for reading

Rob
