Default Manor Farm Fishery Beds

Thinking of going to Manor farm fishery in Beds tomorrow as I can't wait for the AW reservoirs to open, I'm getting restless! Anyone know how its fishing, or have any tips? It will be my first small water outing, as I've only fished big reservoirs before.

Cheers
Tom

Hi,

I was up there last Thursday, tough going, but ended up with three good fish over 2lbs each. Caught on Montana and yellow dancer. There seem to be a fair amount of fish in the margins. It was stocked on the 8th of Feb, see attached link

Tom, small lures or apps bloodworm fished down the margins normally work well where there are rushes.

Booby slowly retrieved on a Di7 work if it's really cold and you are not catching.

Good value - £20 for 3 fish plus unlimited C&R.

Just been there today. Bloody Freezing but caught 3 up to 3 and a half pounds. Best bit was near the entrance using bloodworms / buzzers and the fish were close in. Well worth a visit.

Had a good day on saturday. I took 2 on the far bank one on a diawl bach and the second on a viva. My friend had a better time taking 6 fish with 2 of those over 4lb. Black and green was definately the order of the day. Although the last 3 of those came to a small damsel (s10 short shank) that I gave my mate to try after he caught his limit in quick sucession, so maybe that would have been a good place place to start.

Others were having success on boobies fished slow on sinking lines, but we stuck to floating lines out of stubborness

Lovely day at Manor Farm today with my brother and nephew.
Strong breeze but mild temps and we all got our limit (3), c and r'd a few and had lots of takes and lost fish as well. Fish I assume were recent stockies and were taking a variety of flies, my best being a PTN, my brother a black and green montana and nephew a small white lure. If they were recent stockies, they were good ones. Just about fin perfect, full big tails and really gave a good tug. I think I had the largest of the bunch with a returned fish of around 4 1/2 lbs.
Great day and all for 20 quid. Terrific value.

I was also there again today - I think I may have spoken to you Delray. Very friendly place and a nice fishery. It was a struggle for a while with the wind but I had 2 and released 2 others in the end, on crunchers and olive nymphs.
