Default Tweeddale Millenium

After the superb Forum day out in November, myself and Edd7 decided to take a trip through today. After chewing the fat with Scott, he advised us to go with green/black..boy was he right!
Cortland blue intermediate and various lures done the business, but also got a few under an indicator with the aptly named Millenium bug . I returned 14 with an average weight of around 4lb and one of 6lb and one around 7lb.

Edd was trying for double figures..both in weight and quantity..he landed 19 and lost many more, most of which were caught on his self tied flies. Well done Big man!

Highly recommend Tweeddale as a fishery..and the food is spot on!
Cheers Diarmid.

Col it was a superb day..next time were going we will give you a shout

Wee Joey you should give it a go..you will do very well there, will also let you know next time we are going.

Gnewhighlander it is a few miles outside Gifford, near Haddington (just South of Edinburgh). Takes approx 1.5 hours drive from Renfrewshire.

Cheers Diarmid.

I was up this morning with 3 beginners. The trout were still there in the top corner (I recognized it in your photos Diarmid ) Between us we had 35 fish in 4 hours with many more lost. The boys had a great time and still had time for a bacon roll from the lodge! No fish under 3lb and a few that were pushing double figures. They weren't fussy for specific lures or colours as long as they were fished very slow and deep.

Weather wasn't too bad either and only really turned bad as we were leaving at lunchtime.

All in all, not a bad outing to start the year with
