Hi, I went there on Saturday for the first time. Its was fishing very very well. Too well if im honest. Im not the best trout fisherman in the world and I had 5 fish within the first 2 hours and I wasnt even fishing hard. I had a fag or a something to eat between each fish and moved pegs each fish too to try and make my ticket last a bit longer. My last fish took a while as tried dries for a while to kill some time and then they seemed to go off the feed a bit about lunchtime. Saying that other people were still cathing plenty in certain places. All the fish were caught on green damsels. Most of the fish being caught were anywhere right of the lodge (if you were to draw a line directly accross the lake from the lodge, right of that).

My only disapointment was that my biggest fish was only 3lb and all the rest were between 2 and 2.5lb. But I did see at 3 fish caught over 5 pounds (I reckon the biggest was 7ish) and heard of quite a few more around the 6-8lb mark so I think I was a bit unlucky. Saying that I had a fantastic day and its a lovely place and with plenty of space and was not too busy at all and everyone I spoke to was very friendly. Plus I didnt lose or drop a fish all day which was nice :-)

I cant wait to go back. The thing is next time do I fish Bushy or do I try for a wacker on Lechlade ?

If anyone has any ideas of how to pick up the bigger fish when fishing blind I would like to know (I tried a bigger fly) ?

Guys, check the lechlade thread, Bushy has been suffering from ice of late.

Drunkdriver.....if you are giving lechlade a go then at the moment lures seem to be the order of the day either white or black. Lechlade is a tough fishery and can have great days and really good blanking days. However I can safely say it generally makes each fish a challenge. Its worth giving it a go to see if you can catch one of the big doubles....I managed 2 low doubles at the weekend and a cracking brown which has made my month :-D
