Default Lakeside Sporting

Hi all,

Went to Lakeside in Wymesworld at the weekend with my son. Pleased to tell you we both caught our first trout (2 each) which we're delighted with after 2 blanks at other locations. Anyway.. the fish were in good condition, but wont break any size records. The place was really nice and the people friendly. Well worth considering if you're a beginner I think, although the water was a little coloured. Apparently the lakes have been fishing well recently.

yeah! I thought of packing it all in when after 30mins I had gotten into 5 tangles in 4 casts and then to top it all my fly caught in a tree. 5 mins later I got my first fish and all that had gone before suddenly was something to laugh about!

The best part of the day was hooking into a fish on my home-tied damsel pattern (the fish won though - got off the hook)... rapidly followed by loosing said fly into the same darned tree as earlier in the day!

Anyway.. a real confidence boost for both of us. I guess we're not doing too much wrong after all.

No stopping you both now - well done, especially for persevering after first couple of attempts Haven't heard that venue mentioned for a long time - never been myself but lived in Nottingham when it first opened (maybe 15+ years ago) so remember the name - I thought it had closed down but obviously not! Speaking of Nottingham, I learnt on Colwick Park, which if anywhere near you is worth a go (or used to be), especially as you can get a boat out for variety and its quite cheap (or used to be!)
