Default Amport?

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone can update me on Amport and how it's fishing, tactics etc. Yup, I've put last weekend totally behind me and am ready to make a fool of myself again on Saturday

I'm thinking small flies (buzzer?) and floating line it being a small water. Am I on the right track?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy

Did you go to Amport, and if so, how did you get on?

Gav

Hey Gav,

Yes I did. For once I felt I actually fished ok, well in terms of my casting anyway (see my thread from last week). Problem was, I only saw one fish in the 5 hours I was there. Weather wasn't great but I thought it had warmed up enough to maybe get the fish feeding? Unfortunately, not a thing, not even a knock. No fish came up and I just saw this one pass over one of the chalk patches. The constant rain and wind made spotting fish very difficult so I was fishing blind for the most part. Tried numerous flies - small buzzers, damsel, bloodworm, corixa - but there wasn't much going on. I'm wondering if it's one of those venues that doesn't get stocked over the winter? Who knows? Wasn't too disappointed though because I was concentrating more on sorting my casting out. Hey, I even had a go at hauling! Get me.....
Shall be going down to Manningford on Thursday to see if I can remember what I was doing right and hopefully get into a few fish there instead.

Default maningford

If Andy is there today, he may have drowned. Rain by the bucket load this morning. If there has been a lot then the stream side bank is going to be very soggy for a while and you will need wellies on. It is worth dropping Malcolm a line on Saturday to ask about the water clarity.

regards

Vince

I am not sure they are that miserable, but you a right they dont deserve a fishery like that if they cant run it with some resemblance of order.

Default Avon Springs

I've never had a problem at Avon Springs. I used to work near there and my best time from office to bankside was 40 minutes, including a cycle ride home. However, n my haste I forgot waterproofs and it started tipping it down. They lent me a set so I could carry on fishing.

Bobcat it is possible that I may see you at Maningford on Sunday, no 3 son has been giving my ear a bending all winter about getting out.

regards

Vince
