Theres a snowdrift about 6ft high in the middle of the bottom loch at BORLANDS. Id suggest the ice is quite thick considering the weight involved with that amount of snow.Moffats the only one id say isworth a phone as its spring fed and theres always somewhere free of ice on it. The flip side is i fished it 3 weeks ago and the fish were the worst ive came across ANYWHERE. I asked ANDY behind the counter what was happening and he said they dont bring theyre own fish on anymore?? I had 14 BUT they cme straight in and i was so horrified after fishing it for 20 years and maybe spoiled by SEAN ,CLIVE AND MICHEAL. With the weed problem and the standard of fish i reckon iv witnessed the death of one of the best stllwaters in SCOTLAND at one time. I think the difference is that the OTTEWELLS ran it as a buisness and perhaps its now more a hinderence to the new owners with other irons in the fire. Sorry m8 im off on one but i hold MOFFAT close to my heart and it pains me to see it that way. The NEW MOFFAT is ALDERNEUK though and it trully is a godsend. Roll on the thaw eh.WHEW TIME FOR A CUPPA
