Default central scotland sillwaters.any open?

HI guys hope you have all had a good xmas.
im stuffed to the gunnels as usual with too much food and bottles of bud.
not had a chuck on any water in a week, and as ive got two weeks holiday i really wanted to go for a for a throw tomorrow.the only realistic chance that i can think of is swanswater so i emailed them yesterday and they e mailed back saying the water was mostly fishable but they are closed on boxing day.
anyone know anywhere that is definitely ice free at the present?
thanks in advance
YC

"Wellsfield" boxing day comp bottom pond is 85% ice free top pond is 2/3 ice free, stocked yesterday as i seen the fish go in, tea and coffee free and get your facts right regarding staff and the owners that was a load of nonsense on your earlier post and well out of order, the post has been read by the managment and they are none too happy.

Swanswater have an aereator so if closed for holidays today should be open tomorrow.

Default Wellsfield

I fish Wellsfield basically during the close season,i can normally take my limit or at least get the chances ,even if i dont do my part and miss them

The Lochan's are full to bursting with natural trout grub, snails about 3 or 4 types at least ! Tons of sticklebacks, cased cadis ,buzzers, water boatman, great diving beeltes, buzzers, damsel nymphs to name a few, in fact ive seen few other central Scotland fisheries with so much life in them.

However ive seen guys fish it for the first time, curse and swear "Nae F###ing fash in here ! " etc, etc you know the kind of thing we've all heard it however they are normally chucking lures to the horizen in sinking lines and stripping them back like madman

Often i find the fish there are only feet out, i normally do matter casting "along" the bank and fishing nymphs or even lures very slowly even more so on cold winter days.

Each and every fishery has its hotspots, its tactics that work best etc, and indeed quirk's it takes you a wee while to learn them.

YC i am not going to get into that tit for tat pisshhhh, as for the business wellsfield gives me it`s only a drop in ocean i receive from the forum, it`s the personal unjustified insults threw at the owners/workers i find inappropriate to post on a public forum. which are just not true.
