Default Coltsford Mill 16/12/2009

Arrived about 10 to find the main lake frozen over and the smaller upper lake 3/4 frozen. Had a chat with the balliff, very helpful chap called Paul, who pointed us in the right direction and the two of us had six fish out by 13.00, one on a Jack Frost type fly which a passing local angler gave us, 3 on a mni Cats Whisher and 2 on a gold head short shank green and black Montana. Smallest was 3lb and a personal best for me of 7.5 lb which gave me the run around for 15 minutes. Well worth going out in the cold for!!

All the best

Hello mate, not seen you since we almost drowned at Albury October before last!!

Not deep at all, all fish taken on a count between 3-5, go to the far corner, there are two stalls/seats about 10 yards apart, we were on them. Where the stream goes into the lake is an apparent hot spot as well, was referred to as the larder by the the local angler that dropped by. If you get up there let me know how you get on, I will be back there in the new year.

All the best

Never touched the stream, to be honest never considered it, have you had a go there in the past?

I have, yes. My mate did fish it quite a lot at one point. He found it very hit and miss.Could be great or rock hard.Think the members had a major moan a few years back about the stocking, seems as though things have evened out a bit.We have been told on quite a few occasions that they put some very good fish in,including some blues before the members comps-ie over xmas and new year
Really ought to fish it more as its only a hop once on the motorway
