Default Rib Valley

Fished Rib today and it was pretty good - had seven upto 3lbs mainly on a goldhead cat on the midge tip but a couple on sinkers. Most of the fish were mid-water or below, although I had two on the drop, before starting the retrieve.

One of my mates had one 6-13 and it was a lovely fish with a nice tail that took him all over the lake.

Some fish really close in but a number also at range. Just keep moving and covering all of the swim.

Closed next Sunday 13th for our Xmas match.

Hows the quality of fish there now, Charlie?

I have found it a mixed bag before with the odd cracker with full fins.

I fished there a few years ago when my fishing partner hooked into a 4lber that must have snorted a bag of speed as it stripped him way down into his backing thrice before coming to the net.

Any plans to try Chigboro this Winter?

He's changed supplier this year and they are all really good even the lumps, all pretty much fin perfect.

Average size right now is a fraction under 2lbs as they were short on size, but there are a lot more 6-8lbs fish in there than usual, to compensate.

Had an excellent day at Rib Valley yesterday - caught 7 in a about 3.5 hrs including 2 while it was snowing!

Caught on blobs and lures fished with a slow retrieve on a Di3 line after around a 15 second sink.

Great fishery! - Have seen plenty caught on my 3 visits this season.

Fished really well today in the milder conditions.

Most of us were into double figures, largely caught on buzzers and I even had a few really close to the top on a washing line.

Some good fish coming out with and 8 and a 9 during the last week.
