Default Westlow Mere, congleton

Fished here yesterday and the fishing was fantastic, i think recently stocked but fish switched on to fry patterns especially cats whisker and variants. And picked up a nice brown too so was well chuffed, will be back, ck

If you fish to the left of the boats and fish the bank opposite the disabled bank ( If nobody there get over there ) and use a Di 5 or any other sinker but allow to sink and use a cats whisker you,ll catch loads, post your catch, cheers ck.

Fished here for the first time on Saturday with CanadaKid who I also met for the first time, top fella! Driving down in CK's van the temperature gauge on the dashboard read -7.5*C on arrival. Two thirds of the lake were frozen over but there was still plenty of open water to fish and one or two rising fish too. After a coffee in the lodge we set about trying to tempt a fish into taking. CK was into the fish within minutes, a cats whisker on a DI-3. I think he'd had two or three fish before I was into my first on the buzzers. As the morning went CK caught consistently on the lures and sinking line finishing a very cold day with 15 or so fish I think, the best a cracking rainbow at least 6lb. I only managed 6 rainbows on the buzzers, but finished the day off in the last half hour with a lovely little brownie caught on one of CK's pink nomads using one of his rods.

I had a great days fishing despite the cold, with good company and a top fella, I enjoyed the day immensely, and my first brownie since starting back up was the "icing" on the cake.
I will return to Westlow Mere without a doubt, but hopefully it will be warmer.
Clive give us a shout any time fella!
