Any olympic designated site is completley out of bounds to members of the public ,
full stop, its part of contract that every country wishing to host the games sign up too, but after the olympics finish you can bet all you want prices will inflate and the spin offs will be mind boggling for the owners

I think the Olympics is a feeble or non existent excuse.

Only anglers are being affected. You could walk your dog, sail a boat, have a picnic, cycle round the water, throw stones in the water and feed the ducks and swans, but you can't fish.

How ridiculous is that and how much discrimination is that against anglers who actually pay for the privilege to go out in all weathers, not just sunny days and bank holidays. Not forgetting the amount of money that local businesses, pubs, chip shops and tackle shops will be losing.

This is blatant discrimination against a particular group. What we really need is a load of Asian, black, disabled or female anglers to complain because then someone might listen.

Just had an e-mail from ST confirming its NOT going to be used for Olympics training now - due to swimming concerns as suspected. At least thats one red herring out of the way.

Also had a text from mate saying there's a meeting between ST and Draycote Fly Fishers tomorrow pm.

Calm down Bazzer, I wouldn't go that far!
I'd say we tolerate the sailers and surfers, because everyone has a right to use the water and they sail too close irrespective of lines in the water and then have a go at us for being in the way.

Or is that just me and the cabin yachts on Rutland.

Yep - Draycote issue now seems to be "living" in this section!:
Draycote Reservoir - Severn Trent adds Insult to Injury

Mind you, as you can, the meeting was a waste of time - but did you really expect anything else?

Hagrid,

the anchor brigade are far more of a nuisance than any sailers/surfers in my experience, but don't get me started on that.

cheers big man!
