Just a short note to say that I understand that (after their recent low water problems) Meon Springs will be opening it's doors on the 20th November.

Went down to Meon Springs today in less than favourable conditions - rain, wind etc etc. Really good to see both lakes and the catch and release almost full Very easy fishing - both my mate and myself both into fish on our first cast !! Only four fishermen there yesterday (the day it opended) and four of us again today - reckon the fish will "wise up" the more people return.
Good to be back nontheless - and the four free bacon rolls left over from a pheasant shoot were awesome !

Finally managed to get to Meon Springs myself today.
Cold, wet and windy for the most part.
Water was a tad coloured due to run-off from the fields, which is to be expected after all the recent rains.
Reasonably easy fishing today (in spite of the weather).
Best fish was bang-on 6Lb, and all of them were nicely fully-finned and fighting hard.
From chatting to people there, basically anything black and retrieved slowly was pretty-much doing the business.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip there (inspite of the weather), and will be back soon.
