Thumbs up selmmuir fishery

Took a trip to selmmuir fishery in West Lothian this morning for the first time having heard good reports about the place since its been taken over by John Kelly, have to say my mate and i were very impressed, weather was a bit of a nightmare to be honest with the driving rain but the place is well sheltered by the surrounding trees, i only managed one fish but thats down to my guff angling skills My mate got 3 in about half an hour on an orange dancer, another guy just up from us was nailing them good style and pleny others into fish too, all in all a good morning, lovely wee fishery, nice friendly staff and definetley worth a visit for anyone out this way, we'll be going back for sure

Yeah, nice wee fishery now. Good winter fishery...Hate these ****** trees though. Two part ladder an essential piece of kit, eh! :O) My only gripe is the size of the trout....average under 2lb....Not that I bother too much about big fish but a mixture would be nice. Nevertheless though a nice wee comfy fishery thats easy to catch at and very relaxing atmosphere. A winter haven. Not too busy yet ;o)

Agreed guys

I fished it with another forum memeber and his buddy last Saturday, lovely wee place.

The trees keep you on your toes i got hung up twice but recovered my flys, the other forum member lost 7 flies ! He shall remain nameless he did manage a fish

His buddy took 3 for 7 lb and i took 3 for 7.5lb also lost another for takes were very, very gentle and most were very lightly hooked.

A good day out nice wee place certinally go back as already said sheltered by lots of trees.
