It's been blowing a hoolie and hosing it down all day today, but the forecast for tomorrow is better. Are you coming next weekend or this?

Default Grafham

We fished Grafham a couple of weeks ago and it was clear they had not stocked for a few weeks - no real concentrations of fish and every one we caught was in really good nick but well spread out.

Unfortunately the West Bank and Savages is now out of bounds. We did well around J buoy and we found a few in front of teh Seat. A lot of fish were caught just off the dam as well, but not by us.

The fish are on fry so white lures best - white humungus ideal, largely shallow then but been a bit colder since so may be deeper now.

Drop a pm to Rob Edmunds - he's very helpful and bound to have more upto date info.

Hope it's good for you.

Charlie

I've only been on the bank on Rutland recently, and the fish are well spread out. Keeping moving seems to be the way forwards.

Oddly dries have been working extremely well of late, when you couldn't buy a pull on a minkie (not that minkies aren't working, but if you're struggling), a static dry would suddenly reveal fish. Hoppers, Hare's ears, big bushy things and even greased up blobs, go figure.

I've seen and heard of the odd big brown coming out inevitably, and the rainbows go like stink, even the little ones. Some of them are looking a little lean, but in cracking condition. The wind is due to stay basically southerly, so will have been pretty settled for 10 days or more by next weekend, which is always a good thing.

No real idea how the boats are faring, but someone will chip in I'm sure.

Weather forecast for the weekend is continuing to be a bit rubbish. The boats were not allowed out yesterday on Rutland and probably not today either (I didn't look, too windy for the bank as well frankly). Minimum wind speed is forecast as 18mph (gusts to 42mph) over the weekend, so unless you're desperate to bank fish you might be out of luck?

Was working in Edith Weston today, the water looked bleak. Saw one hardy soul fishing the bank, boats stayed in.
