I've decided to venture out over winter and also to try some new venues for next year, mainly stillwaters but possibly the odd river.

Does anyone have a list or recommendations (good/or bad) of Peak District or surrounding areas fishing venues (day ticket not season). I'm south of the Peak District but spend quite a bit of time in the area. Ive already found:

Foremark
Carsington
Arnfield
Ladybower
Pennine
Danebridge.

So far Arnfield gets the nod, fishing, ammenities and pleasing on the eye!

Barlow lakes is another one near Chesterfield, 4 trout lakes & 4 course lakes.
Can't really comment on how good or bad they are as I've only been the once myself. Pleasant enough setting though.

Carsington is closed over winter

There is a passport fishing scheme in place on the River Dove, with 6 beats open over winter for grayling fishing as well, there is some info about it in this thread, if you want any more info about it, PM me your contact number and i will pass it onto the guy from Trent Rivers Trust who runs the scheme
