Default Burnhouse lochan

Thought i would give my local stillwater a mention for a change, rolled out of bed around 8.30 and pondered where to go as of the last few days it was bitter cold- a light westerly wind and overcast with a threat of rain made me stay close to home,i was the first on the water and although a few fish were rising opted for my snowbee xs sink tip with a single yellow dancer yeah i know...... after several casts was into my first fish of around 2.5lb, after that i opted for my floater and put on a team of black spiders and had a second fish almost immediately-a hard fighting fish weighing just over the 4lb mark which took me down tio the backing twice before i landed it.the rain came on and i retreated to the lodge before venturing out 20 minutes later, i lost one more fish which darted into the weeds and unhooked it`s self and had a few follows and jags, all in all a good day with plenty of big fish moving about well worth a visit for anybody who hasn`t yet fished it .

chris.
