i went on sunday, the weed has died back a fair bit now allowing fishing in the top 5 or 6 feet of water above the weed beds excellent for patrolling fish on a floating line. both myself and my boat partner had bagged up by lunch on montana.
tight lines

Visited RG yesterday. I first went 2 years ago when I first started, and regret not going back sooner. Pretty lake, bordered by the River Nene and not intimidatingly large; 35 acres the bailiff said. (looks smaller than that).
Fish seemed to be feeding on the top close to the 'lodge', but we (2 in a boat) had no joy with those. Caught 10 or so between us, the biggest being a 6 lb ish full finned, fit r/b (returned) We had most luck with buzzers, bachs, ptn's that had to be fished just above the weed beds that seem to be all over the lake. If we had the flies too shallow, got no offers, but skipped just above the weed achieved some results.
2 fellas in their boat fishing black buzzers got in excees of 30 to their boat!
Great day, and at 45 quid for 2 with a boat, 6 fish limit, c and r up to that, really good value.
Regards, Del.
