With the Brown trout season now closed this week,some nice Browns made their last apearance before the close.james Patience surprised himself landing a beauty of 4lb 2ozs of wild brown trout and jerry Brown,no pun,also had one of 4lbs,all returned safe.Bob Hendry ladnded a nice 8lb fish,Phil Sinclair had 6lb fish,Michael Clark had 4lb 5oz,George Cowie a 4lb 6ozs fish,les Reid a 4lb 13ozs,Willie petrie had 6lb 8ozs fish among his 16 haul,Jim eddie landed a 5lb er,Abigail and stuart Montgomery returned 3 fish over 6lbs,and there was plenty of good catches this week by anglers with Graham Laing a 5lb 4ozs fish,ian Munro 12,David Davey 16,Ron Maslin 16,Bill Greg 11,Bob Anderson 30,Gordon Grant 24,Chris Johnston 26,Ian kerr 10,martin Simpson 10,les Aitken 12,mike Matthews 11,Slater Scott 24. Best of the flies have been those with lime and black in them along with buzzers,and the usual blobs.Mostly it has been floating lines but intermediates are slowly with the changes in temperatures ,are starting to appear more damaging and used.the Blues are still making anglers work hard and are in prime condition and fighting hard to give very good sport along with the bigger fish.With the nights drawing in now please be aware that we do close at dusk and not 10pm,as through the summer where it is 10pm or dusk which ever comes soonest.
