Thinking of having a day here this Saturday,only fished it a couple of times over the years not much luck both trips so any advice on areas,tactics etc. would be a great help.

Hi pedro, my mate was up 2wks ago he said it was poor 2 fish all day.I used to fish it years ago then they put the Black Birds Fancy brigade on ie (WORMERS) then they let them use POWER-BAIT, so thats why you are not doing so well, some of my mates are wormers and they rave about it. I'm going to try to book a boat on Tunstall for Saturday if you want it you can come, but I'll talk to you to-morrow got all the gear electric motor drouge and anchor. Regards Robbie

Was chatting to a mate at Tunstall on Sunday. He said his son in law had been to Derwent during the week - had 7 fish. reckons it's fishing really well.

(Tunstall (or maybe just me) is fishing very poorly - 4th blank of the season on Sunday.... and the 2nd in September!!)

We were considering going to Derwent next weekend as well though nothing was decided. May see you there.

hi pedro ,

i was there a few weeks ago , it was hard going on the fly only side as the wind was coming right into your face and across from the right .(not good for a right handed caster ).
i still caught 2 fish but couldn't take the wind any longer , i drove around the other side and went about half a mile past all the bait anglers and fished some lovely bays , with the wind coming across from the left and perfect for drifting buzzers and wets .
i had another 5 mostly to kate maclarens , deadly on derwent , all fish were in the 2-3lb range and were in lovely condition .
