I was there last Thurs and Fri.

thursday was bright sunshine all day and the only method that worked for us was orange and sunburst blobs on a DI5!

Friday was much more overcast which brought the fish up in the water and blobs/boobies on a slime line worked best. we also caught better fish on small diawl bach's (12's + 14's) up around rainbow corner.

Lots of fish in biggins bay, just off farborough spit and over the middle shoal.

The last hour of each day brought the fish to the top and I took a few on sedgehogs - fast fig 8 to make a wake over the surface.

The better fish are tight into the banks chasing sticklebacks.

Had such a good time that we're planning on one last trip in October. SWMBO hasn't been told yet!!!

Tight lines

Default Week Ending - Saturday 26th September 2009

Best fish was the 11lbs 6ozs rainbow to Bromsgrove bank angler Mr Peter Elliott. Peter took two fish weighing 17lbs 4ozs and returned another sixteen at Rainbow Corner.

Leicester boat angler Mr Ian Footman took a 10lbs 00ozs rainbow which helped him claim the week's heaviest eight fish limit at 29lbs 12ozs.

Mr Ian Morris of Shipston on Stour took a rainbow of 7lbs 00ozs and then Mr Llyn Evans, Mr John Snelson, Mr Colin England, Mr J Balinski, Mr Mike Davies, Mr Gwyn Jones, Mr Jim Dempsey and Mr Terry Buchanan all took rainbows in excess of six pounds.

Best brown was 10lbs 2ozs to Leamington Spa bank angler Mr Karl Cooper which he returned to the water at Toft Bay. Karl had actually forgotten his own rod and had to borrow one from the Lodge - the lucky one obviously.

Other browns returned this week include 7lbs 00ozs to Mr Geoff Lomasney, 7lbs 00ozs to Mr Don Roper, 5lbs 8ozs to Mr Bill Williams, 5lbs 6ozs to Mr Martin Webster, 5lbs 00ozs to Mr Melvyn Severn and 3lbs 8ozs to Mr Mick Cronin.
Browns taken include 7lbs 8ozs to Mr Cliff Emms, 5lbs 8ozs to Mr Steve Gough, 5lbs 00ozs to Mr Ian Lishman and 4lbs 12ozs to Mr R A Collins.

Lots of good eight fish limits, but the best include 26lbs 8ozs to Mr Tom Jones of Coventry, 26lbs 00ozs to Mrs Kyran Barby of Broughton Astley and 26lbs 00ozs to Mr A Sheldon.
Also plenty of big five fish limits a few of which include 23lbs 00ozs to Mr Cliff Emms, 18lbs 8ozs to Mr Nick Stubbs, 18lbs 11ozs to Mr Ron Blackwell, 18lbs 13ozs to Mr Tony Broadway,16lbs 4ozs to Mr Paul Walker, 17lbs 2ozs to Mr Simon Cook, 16lbs 00ozs to Mr George Smith, 17lbs 8ozs to Mr David Malpas, 18lbs 4ozs to Mr Ken Rawlings, 16lbs 4ozs to Mr J Humphries and 16lbs 10ozs to Mr Keith Eastbury who also returned twenty others..

All areas have fished for bank and boat.
Diawl Bach, Red Buzzer, Black Buzzer and small Minkies have been good from the bank.
The boats have fished with all these and lots more besides. Fish have mostly been higher in the water.
