Default Swinsty/Fewston

Hi. Anybody fish either of these two? Any reports/advice forthcoming please?

I have a few hours to kill in a fortnight's time near Harrogate and may pop over here (I've heard they stay open in October).

Also, is there still a small fishery at Farnham near Knaresborough (Farmire I think it was called)? If so, is it worth a visit?

Cheers

Don

Thanks Bruce. Loads of info. marra.

I'll probably try Fewston, but for future info., do you know of anywhere else in that area, easily accessible for a few hours? (My wife will be busy in Knaresborough for about 4 hours and the plan is that she will drop me off somewhere near. This could happen a few times over the next 2 years so I'm hoping to try a few different places).

Unfortunately, this time, it's going to be Sat 10th or Sun 11th of October, so the vast array of running water day tickets will be off the menu (unless there are day-ticket grayling waters nearby....??)

Cheers

Don

The last time I went the credit card facility was bust, so unless it's been mended you need to take a barrowload of £1 coins - a real nuisance, but it's a long way from the nearest bank!

By the way, the third reservoir mentioned is Thruscross, upstream (north) of Blubberhouses on the A59. This is a wild brown water (C&R only) which is included in the Fewston/Swinsty ticket; not sure when that closes.

Credit card facilty still broken. Find it easier to post my money and registration card into the office sealed in an envelope. Easier than carting loads of coins about!

Default Fewston/Swinsty

Anyone fished these recently? Have they fixed the cash machine yet?
