Default Landlocked Salmon?

I've been spending a lot of weekends hiking in the hills between Llandovery and Tregaron. I've been noticing fish activity in the streams and brooks that feed Llyn Brianne reservoir. In the shallows there seems to be salmon pink raising in the evenings and this led me to think that these have been breeding since the dam was built.
Has anyone experienced or heard rumours of land locked salmon in other reservoirs?

Red face

Sorry for any frivolity... I didn't know that.

I did check on experimental stockings of distressed 'torgoch' - Welsh arctic charr into 4 lakes (some reservoirs) but none were that far south.
I still think it unlikely in the extreme that you saw salmon parr there, certainly not "landlocked".

Is this a Welsh thing because it's not a Scottish saying, never ever heard it before.

Looks like I asked the question in the wrong place.

Trying to mask ignorance with stupid remarks just shows the depth of the ignorance.

Sincere apologies if that reply is aimed at me. I think you've taken my reply in the wrong context. I was simply stating that they are known as salmon par in my neck of the woods and I've never heard the term salmon pink before.

again I apologise if that was aimed at me - no malice intended
