Default Fishing in Hampshire this week

Hi, first time post here. I am staying on Lymington down on the Hampshire coast for a few days and are looking to do some fly fishing reasonably nearby.

Haven't got the budget to do the chalk streams and looking for somewhere to go - we are novices really. Dever Springs and Avington have been suggested as has Rockbourne. Any suggestions or advice most welcome please..

Holbury lakes at Lockerley Green is pretty with good fishing, bit hard to find though.
Woodington near Wellow is good value.
As mentioned Rockbourne is worth a punt.

Go to Stockbridge, look at the fly shops, feed the trout in the high street in the Test carrier, check out how pretty the villages along the Test Valley are, Longparish etc., then go fishing at John O Gaunts fishery at Stockbridge.

Those would be good bets, or, any estuary having a fling for bass?

Great advice Darren thanks very much.

Checked out Stockbridge etc and then went to Holbury Lakes. Beautiful spot on a lovely day. Excellent fishing and had some excellent quality Rainbows out. This is a gorgeous spot lovely, quiet and very picturesque. Good numbers of fish and obviously well maintained. Pity you had to take fish (No C+R) but at least they were excellent quality and we gave our fish to the local Care Home in the village who were very happy to take them so everyone happy.
