Carron Valley is on a distinguished road
Default Carron Valley Report Aug 09

Despite the torrential rain we've seen throughout August the fishing has continued to be excellent and until the last few days the vast majority of large bags have been taken on drys. Over the last few days as the temprature has dropped the fish have went down 6-12" or so and mostly taking shimmys, blobs, bibios, black pennels and carron rabbits.

A few extracts from the catch return over the last few weeks.......

Pencaitland AC, 35 fish for 60lb 2oz & 6 returned
Perth RASC, 23 for 47lb 5oz
Kelso AC, 44 for 98lb & 27 returned
Dunfermline Artisan, 39 fish (no weight recorded)
Port Glasgow, 54 for 95lb 8oz
C Osborne & Mr Kerr, 7 for 10lb & 40 returned
J LItster / A Cairnie, 16 rainbows & 25 browns inc one at (est) 15lb,all returned.

The bank anglers have doen exceptionally well and often better than the boats..........two clubs braved the bank in what could only be described as not the best of conditions and recorded the following.........:
Dreghorn AC, 28 for 48lb & 13 returned
IBM, 24 for 52lb 4oz & 7 returned with the biggest being 8lb 9ozto Derek Keenan.
