Default Which Anglian water is fishing the best??

HELP!!!!!!!

Got permission for a day out on Sat. But where to go?? Will be on a boat and it has to be an anglian water as i'm a season ticket holder. Haven't been out for a while so any info would be really welcome.

Have looked at Rutland Gillies site for the latest reports but was wondering if anyone had any first hand info?

Thanks

Hi Chickenfish,
Last thursday, on advice from the guys at Ravensthorpe, spent a day on a boat at Pitsford with my brother. We are both fairly inexperienced, but with various flies managed 13 or so to the boat, lost 3 or 4 each and had numerous tugs and pulls. Great fun, either anchored or on a drift, with the fish in the top 4 feet and seeming to want something pulled a little quickly through the water. The fish we caught were in great nick and really went well. With our standard of casting, was a hard day but well worth the 120 mile round trip from Herts.
Incidentally, the only other fellah we spoke to afterwards at the boat dock had an individual tally of around 16!
I appreciate this isn't a 'technical' report, but hope it helps, and I'm sure the guys/girls in the lodge won't put you wrong.
Regards,
Del.

I think I would go to Rutters, mainly because it's only 25mins from me but also because the last time I heard there was some good quality fish coming out at the top of both arms, not in large numbers though.

You might want to look at the forecast as well, could be a but breezy on the water

Pitsford is fishing very well indeed. We had a boat yesterday and had twenty fish drifting the narrows, most taking a claret mini muddler on the bob.Three were grown on fish between four and five pounds, full of fry and snail.Fished the bank at Sermans last Thursday and had great sport with fry feeders coming into knee depth water. Some cracking fish round the weedbanks.
Ravo is like pea soup apparently, so avoid.
Have a good day.

Default Go to Grafham...

Completely disagree with comments on Grafham, it's been fishing it's nuts of all August.

Last 4 trips i've had 25, 8, 12 & 7 last Saturday by 1.30pm (I finished then).

West bank feeding on snails, Corixa, Fry & some Daphnia - Depending on conditions fish dries or washing line.

Last Sat I caught drifting on to N Bouy & in south corner of Dam, mainly on DI3 & washing line - had a nice bream (in the mouth!) in the main basin - hundreds of them (spawning I guess?). Others were catching on floaters/midge tips & they were all cracking fish!

Plus you get to see the lovely Tracey & Pauline & Keith will do you a great breakfast - bring on the weekend....

Hope this helps.

Tight lines,
