Well, I stood around a small pond full of visibly enormous rainbows. I managed to blank on the day, foolishly refusing to use a bung or the feathery "budgie" flies being sold at the hut as the best flies to use.
I tried the hopper with midge dropper without success. I had a pull on a green headed montana, put on in desperation, but was so shocked, I missed it.
Maybe I am still a bad fly fisher in my first season, but my impression of this place is a small pond with people crammed round the edges.
This may be a fantastic venue for some, but it is as far from a natural venue as you can get. As for landing a record fish, if you can see them swimming round and round in front of you, what's the point?
