Default Morton Reservoir

Hi folks

I fancy a wee trip up to Morton tomorrow (Saturday). Has anyone fished it lately or heard how it's fishing.

Any info would be great.

Thanks Ricky - sounds like you had a good day. Were you out in a boat or just off the bank? Do you know if the boats have anchors, it's meant to be a bit breezy tomorrow although it'll hopefully be pretty sheltered up there.

Cheers

yes there is anchors, if its really bad there is a bit in the loch where its flat calm depending on where the wind is comeing from

Tightlines!

Thanks Ali

I'm looking forward to it, never fished it in about 10 years. Used to be my backup water that I fished if the wind was blowing too hard fo my first option. Don't know whether to fish it from the bank or to take a boat out. Just have to wait and see what it looks like tomorrow.

Good day today - eventually. It was a slog this morning with strong cold wind and very bright sunshine. Managed to eek out a couple on a cormorant after trying most areas and rowing all the way round the reservoir. Luckily the wind died a bit in the afternoon and the daddies appeared
Ended up getting about a dozen on a dry daddy throughout the afternoon - great fun. Never got any big fish but the majority fought really hard and gave a good account of themselves.

All in all, a good trip and would recommend a visit if you're in the vicinity.
