Is this the same fishery that was featured on a tv series on bbc 1.

Never fished it seiont, but I too have heard it's under new management. Have a flick through the reports in TF, I'm sure it's in there as I'm also sure it is now a Troutmasters water now.

Definatley a troutmasters water but not many people enter there so any fish caught should net you a badge.

I haven't fished it for many years but you are correct when you say it's under new management

Personally I'd go 4 miles up the road to Brenig. TBH the only reason I used to go there in the past was when we turned up at Brenig to find it blowing a gale.

don't know how it's fishing but a method that used to work well for me there was 2 black buzzers on the droppers with a small goldhead cats whisker on the point (strange as it sounds) on a floater. chuck out and fish the buzzers in the breeze just keeping in touch with the flies then speed up the retrieve with a fast figure 8 to fish the cat back in.

a bit of info here but it is a bit out of date:

a bit of further info - looks like dragonfly fishery has been taken over by new people again in the last month or 2. could you let me know how you get on if you decide to make the trip. I'm only 1 badge short of getting my 5 for the gold badge and should make the journey really.

i didnt know it was 4 miles away from brenig! if i knew i would had told my dad to go there instead. i dont usually look at the road, i just get the reels ready to go fishing, thats why i missed all the signs

next time when im around that area ill go to brenig, heard it is good on a boat and on shore there.

Seiont

I "cheated" a bit to get my badges. First of all I entered fish at 2 small fisheries near to me during January when all sensible people have their tackle locked away - but I'm a Junkie and have to have my fishing fix at least once a week!!

Then my next 2 came at Trawsfynydd and Brenig where not many people enter. It's not difficult to get them you've just got to enter as many times as you can. My mate Del Boy has 2 gold badges this year and is half way to his third. He got one at Shimano Felindre big fish water with a 5lb rainbow - quite a small fish from there but nobody else entered that month so he got one. Have a look through the badge winners every month in the magazine and you will see that not many fisheries have 3 winners per month.

How do you think that young lad from Montgomery got over 100 badges last year??

Keep at it and you'll get them.
