Good question there YC.... I haven't fished many over the border, however, from the ones I have.... my choices would be

Loch Leven
Lake of Menteith
Carron Valley
Rosslynlee TF
Middleton

Ones that I would like to fish.....

Harelaw
Loch Awe
Loch Watten

Carl
Bangour

I've got some useful tips from all those top 5's. I'm heading to Scotland imminently to do some fishing. Possibly Sutherland, Assynt, Cape Wrath area.

Just wondering which off those Lochs are expensive to fish and which are good value? Are there any mentioned that you need a boat or can all be fished easily from the bank?

I think my ideal type of lochs would be fairly small ones, especially width wise so can be covered easier from the bank.

I'd love to get out in a rowing boat though and also try catching some Ferrox or Charr. If you have any tips of which loch's in the highlands to try for that I'd love to hear.

I'd also love to fish on loch awe!

John
