Default Elinor TF

Has anyone fished Elinor recently? Hopefully going later on today for a spot of bank fishing and would appreciate any advice on patterns that are working at the moment, and any comments about how the fishing is.
Thanks, Stu

Fished it for the first time on Saturday, strange experience TBH… went all day with barley a touch, towards the end of the day I moved to the bay where the boats were all settled and watched one bank angler pulling one out after another, heard someone say he settled on 30! Including a couple of 7lb+ fish. I picked one up in this area (the biggest bay on the far side from the lodge, to the left of the pylon, don’t know the names sorry) as everyone drifted home and the sun was setting, they’d moved along the bank a bit and I got a crack at the ‘shoal’, picked up 10 fish and a pike in an hour on a fritz damsel (think they would’ve taken anything, very frenzied) Lost numerous others, including a bigger fish that zinged the line off my reel. So a very polarized day for me, but enjoyable all the same!
Had the first one on a green hares ear and I think the guy that hit 30 was using them too…

When I say green hares ear, that's all I had in my box, guess he was using a natural... if that helps.. Tight lines!

Hi all,

Late notice but thinking of popping up to Elinor TF tomorrow, friday the 23rd oct.
Anyone been recently who can tell me how it's fishing, where and with what?
Any advice gratefully received as been once or twice before with very mixed results!

Regards,
Del.

I went on Sunday for the first time, and I agree; it's sort of odd in that the fish all seem to gather in one area. We went all day with only 2 takes (I missed them both..doh!) as we couldnt get a look in where all the fish were. I did however catch a small pike.. my first ever fish; first ever pike; and first ever fish on the fly.
The fish were all gathered at the end closest to the lodge.

Thanks for that. Not sure if I spoke to Ed, but whoever answered the 'phone was very friendly and as far as he was concerned, the lake is fishing really well, so that is good enough for me!

Regards,
Del.
