Default A word of warning tweedale

My m8 was over at TWEEDALE during the summer hols and fished the top loch for 2 hours without a fish or an offer. He said there were fish leaping about all day 3 or four at a time and looked stressed as they do. He was with his dad and young son and decided to try the bottm lake which was really busy so had to fish into the teeth o the wind. He said he caught a few fish but it was too hard to cast and eventually packed in,when a car pulled up and said you better go in m8 the OLD BOY is going mental about you? To avoid confrontation he packed his dad and son away to the car and went to see the guy. WELLHe started berating him for not coming off on time BUT told him he could stay on until 5.30,he came off at 5 He then started to say he was on the bottom loch all day and had never moved to let anyone in and said YOU ONE OF THOSE SELFISH BARSTEWARDS ARENT YOU and ripped into himI dont know how he kept his hands off him and know for a fact would move and let people in if hed had his sport. He also told a father and son they could have 2 hours sport for £20 and then started yelling at them after 40 mins to get offAll im going to say is ANGLERS are not daft and vote with their feet.Money is tight nowadays and dont need to be treated that way in any walk of life .TWEEDALE ,HAVE A WORD IN AULD BOYS EAR,hes lucky hes still got an ear How poor is that eh. Oh my m8 wont be back and he travels 21/2 hours to get there, and neither will i or my friends.Bang goes 2 or 3 hundred quid a year just because of that clown. i hope hes proud of himself

Unhappy A word of warning tweeddale ?

First time ive heard anything about this ! Several members of the forum were at tweeddale recently alex etc & bill the owner was their, and no one mentioned this. Firstly, the auld guy is standing in to cover a monday and tuesday whilst scott (fishery manager) is on holiday for 3 weeks so he is only helping out. Its only a pity that the people in question did not call and ask for the owner then they could have explained their case. Its always a pity when something like this happens. I can only apologise and have a word with the auld guy! But before i go, ive been in the fishery business for many years and have had to take some real abuse from anglers when dont catch fish, dont get their own way, pay for example 4 hours and want to fish 6, and so on, but generally have a good relashionship with the majority. I no you cant please every one but thats no excuse for any member of staff to speak with customers in that way.

i used to take my club there a few years ago , around 15 each visit until 1 of my retired members was threatened by a "fellow angler", he stood right next to him at the top pool & told him to F'ing shift cos he was fishing there , never been back since which is a pity as the fish were top quality but i do draw the line at threatening behaviour

Walker , are you struggling at my post?? Which part of travelling 2hours ,his family spending the top end of £100 on fuel and fishing and to be treated like that DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND.This forum is all about fishers and their experiences good or bad and i hope out of there BAD experience some GOOD comes at the fishery . Personally i dont blame the fishery just the AULD YIN concerned and have fished it a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it everytime. The staff have also been nothing but spot on with me on my visits. I just think it was a point worth mentioning and certainly not a slur on TWEEDALE FISHERY, just an opinion on the incident. thanks for the input all

WB,

It just doesn't make very good reading, I gave up halfway through reading it for the 2nd time. Why the use of CAPS? The constant smilies? I think I get the jist of it right enough.
