Newmills trout fishery has sadly been in decline over last couple of years,i have fished their a few times as my parents stay in lanark which is close to fishery and so have fished it a few times over last couple of years and found the fish would mostly go for lures as they are feeding on the bottom of the pools and rarely rise to dries.

Do you fish newmills sduff used to catch some decent sized fish at this fishery but find fish around 2 pound mark and usually tails and fins are not in best condition.
