Hi Pedro, day tickets for the rivers are easily obtainable from Sykes tackle shop in Penrith, just google Penrith anglers.
Also Go wild vouchers will get you onto some nice wild stretches of the Lyvennet, about a mile from where you are staying.
Can be got at Norris's in penrith £2.50 per voucher, and only two for a days fishing for wildies.
Hope that helps, have a nice time. Steven.
PS haven't fished Blencarn for a while, but should be OK.

Hi Ped, at the moment the rivers are high, due to the large amount of rain lately. Normally at the moment, upstream dry works well, a parachute type fly, para adams, klinks, and olive patterns will usually get a take.
The late evening you may find success with a sedge pattern, CDC or deerhair.
If the water is coloured try a nymph, upstream for best results, but if you struggle with that, across and down should do as well.
A gold head is often reliable, no fixed rules at the moment, as it's like February here rather than August.
Things can only improve though, can't they ?
