I'm pretty sure that's not the current rule. Additional tickets (deep pockets required!) are available but subject to numbers I believe. Best check with the fishery first tho!
You
will catch your limit if you fish blind. They may well be stunning conditioned fish of between 5lbs & 8lbs but there are bigger fish in there!
The "Blue" eventually took my offering of a #14 stalking bug after nearly two hours of watching and occassional fishing. That was after well over an hour of just wandering and searching! I fished for two other big trout but failed miserably, other than that I had a near 8lber but still went home very happy!
I have no affiliation to Avington whatsoever. But I have always found big double figure trout on each of my visits. Of course, catching them is not so easy! But they are there.
The river (in reality a carrier) is available and holds some nice little browns, a few escapee rainbows and the odd grayling. Tough bit of flowing water to fish, you need to scale right down but is a good test of casting and great fun.
