Haven't fished it for a couple of weeks, but am off there tomorrow for the day. Spoke to Alan (one of the guys who works there, really nice bloke) the other day and he did say they were taking dries well. They have been a bit finicky lately I will say. Though that is often the case on many reservoirs this time of year.

From experience on this water, i probably fish a bit to heavy leader 8.2lb rio powerflex, great for everything except when the fish are taking tiny stuff which they were saturday. If i had light leader say 3lb and was fishing tiny suspender buzzers or shuttlecock buzzers right in the surface then i would have had a field day because they were everywhere. Fast short strips for the damsels though. A lot of fish from overflow up to bird santuary in the bay ( Only by boat though ) , hope you catch.

I,ve had some brilliant days on this water, on opening day myself and a friend had 71 fish EACH, obviously dropped on a big shoal of stockys but still great fun. Days like this though dont come along often.

Default It looked good this evening

I drove past Arnfield around 7pm on the way home over Woodhead after a day out shopping with the family in Manchester.
Plenty of cars in the carpark, and anglers walking towards the water as I went past.
After a lovely warm day, I bet it was a great evening with a good rise.
How did it go?
I managed an hour and a half at Scout Dike on the better side of the Pennines and blanked. One or two signs of movement, but not the rise I expected. Hope you did better than I did!
