Default HIGH DAM FISHERY (near east kilbride)

After another week of wind and showers the high dam has been quite quiet but those who have braved the storms are being rewarded with plenty of fish. Most have been fishing lures in the choppy water but in the evening the fish are rising to buzzers, spiders, yellow hoppers, bibios, red tags ect Lets hope the weather clears up and gives us a nice august. c yawl soon.

Default re high dam

Hi there, high dam is a 3.5acre reservoir, it has a dam wall but it is one of the most natural dams you will fish. There are reed beds and plenty of fly life and it is surrounded by fields. Was active until just after ww2. Round about the 1960s it was stocked with loch leven brown trout. we still get some silvery brownies caught regular and some good sized ones too. i have only reopened about 8 weeks ago after a 10year break. and have stocked heavily since reopening. 5lb fish are regular but average is 2.8lb. there is bank and boat fishing and i welcome float tubes aswell as hire them. i also provide tackle and tuition and im currently getting a new website made with plenty photos ect. cheers, Colin.

I've been to high dam twice with my dad so far. First time no luck, which made us even more determined. Second time we caught a fantastic rainbow just short of 3 pound and a nice 2 pound blue trout. Weather conditions were really bad both days though, so hoping this Saturday will be a little easier going for us!

The location and body of water is excellent, I'd highly recommend it

I once stayed at the eglington arms in eaglesham ( if still there ) and saw people having casting lessons in a nearby field, would these have been from your club, to busy at the time to introduce myself.
