Default Colliford Lake

Hello, I am going on holiday with the family to stay near Launceston in a weeks time and hoping to get a pass for an afternoon/evening on Colliford. I would appreciate any advice on tactics, flies, lines etc as I rarely fish stillwaters, mostly rivers. I believe you get permits for The Jamaica Inn?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Great Forum by the way.
Thanks Martyn

Hi
Yes you get permits from the Jamaica Inn.

More info on the SW Lakes Trust webpages, including fishing reports.

However if you search the forum for 'Colliford' you will find loads of info on flies etc.

Have fun
Simon

Have a look on Nick Hart's website, he has a blog which gives updates on south west waters including Colliford. I have fished there quite alot, the fish are often very close in and the best tactic is to stay mobile and try to spot the fish, expect to cover alot of ground as its a large water. Fly wise anything small and black is good here (black gnat, shipmans buzzers, B&P spider etc), I also had sucess with daddies and sedges last year. Good Luck.
