It is Hazlecopse you are talking about?

Great fishery and some great fishing to be had.

Buzzers work well there, suspended under a bung or on a washing line. Small black or green nymphs can also work well and dont neglect the depths as the bottom lake is deep.

Montanas can also work well as can a white fritz lure worked deep and slow for some reason.

dont be afraid to step up to an 8lb leader as there are some big boys in there. This was teh fishery famed for stocking 40+lb salmon at one stage

Wilf, the farmer/owner will also tell you what is/ has been working well but dont get him started on the EA or the Goverment

brilliant thanks Ben

I dont know if i have any of those flies you just named - still a real begiiner and just learning

i managed to upload the images onto picasa

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/wswalker/Flies#

I'll try a google search on the names you have listed and see if i can match with my set

I have some 8.xlb and 6.x lb line - set up ready to go, so i'll put the 8lb on first - knowing my wifes luck, she will catch a big one on her third day out ( she already 2 fish 4lb 4oz / 3lb 10oz, on her 2nd outing) and one troutmaster 2009 for bratton water this month.....

I fish Hazel Copse (prefer your version "corpse" tho! ) quite often. Excellent value @ £15 C&R.

I tend to fish buzzers on a floating line and long 15ft/20ft leader very slowly. Also if it's not too busy, try casting along the bank as there are often plenty of fish in the margin, particularly the browns. Bloodworm imitations have also proved very good there.

Photo 3 - 2 & 4

Should all work well.

Have a chat with Wilf, he'll give you quality info (even if it's fishing hard). There are a few big doubles in the lakes but don't be fooled by the resident ornamental grass carp!
