Default Frustration at burnhouse fishery

Just back from a 4 hour session at burnhouse fishery.
Was about a dozen anglers ther spread about the various pegs
seen two guys into fish within half an hour.went quiet for the next hour and a half and then some browns were taken on small wet flies.
then a rise came on that i have never seen anything like in my life, and i have been fishing for twenty years,so on went the dries and shipmans buzzers and every surface imitation under the sun, and not one single person touched a fish in the last hour and a half.
think everyone was expectin a bonanza, but the more we tried the more the fish kept on rising. although by this stage the fish were in a frenzy. they would just not look at any of our flies.good to see that amount of fish in the water but frustrating as hell tryin to catch them.anyone else had that experience recently?

Twice i've had them this year chucked everything at them with not a touch. Went down to a size 20 caenis pattern and they where just picking off the spent ones round about my fly and not touching mine.

OOOoooo.... Sounds like a true frustrating moment!!!!

I had a similar experience at Coyle, which lasted all day!! Only way to contact a fish was a Pink Buzzer 3" under a bung!!!

Needless to say, I had tried all and sundry before any modicum of success.

sounds like the dreaded caenisi tried the opposite from trying every dry fly in my box to putting on a soldier palmer muddler and pulling it back and had success with this pattern.
